Today's Maxism...

Me: "Good morning, Max!"...
Max: (non-committal grunt)
Me: "It's Thanksgiving, buddy."
Max: "yeah."
Me: "well, guess what I'm thankful for?"
Max (sarcastically): "oh, let me read your mind - me!"
Me (slightly miffed): "actually, I was gonna say pie."
Max: "hm, that's too bad. Because I'm sweeter than pie."

A bit tart, I think....

Today's Maxism:

Upon the reveal of his school photos this evening:

"That's my goofy smile, Mommy. I thought you'd like it."

And oh, what a difference a year makes:

Max 2013 - Kindergarten vs Max 2014 - First Grade

You can guess by judging from this picture that Max is REALLY enjoying First Grade. His teacher is making a wonderful difference - she is always calm and in control. He loves her. She also helped him make a huge leap up in school - he got in to the QUEST program for creative thinking. It was a great move for him. He comes home and talks about QUEST nearly every day! Doing good, buddy - I'm so proud of you and I love to see you this happy!
